Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Speech: Giving a speech is quite tough if you are not prepared beforehand. Giving a speech is an art in which you should be able to grab your listener’s attention. The listener should be able to connect with you and your thoughts. The language used in the speech should be lucid and enthralling.

Giving a speech on some personality or occasion is unchallenging, but giving it on a topic that touches the raw side of our society is tricky. One such topic we have discussed in this article is Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, which we know.

Due to a huge gap in the female ratio in our country, the government have launched many programs and taken an intensive initiative to promote the education of girl child, especially in the rural areas of our country. Here, let’s have a look at the template.

Durga, Shakti, Saraswati, Ganga and many more names are given to women in our country. We worship our Goddesses, our daughters, and every form of Shakti in our Indian household. Still, the sad reality of our Indian society comes when the gender ratio in some states comes to approximately 879 to 1000 males. Maybe that’s the reason we are still behind other nations.

As said by Shiekh Zayed, “The woman is half of the society; any country which pursues development should not leave her in poverty or illiteracy.” For any society to be developed, the major factor is the upliftment of its women. But why, being the most populous country in the world, is India still lagging? The answer to this question is that most women in our country are not educated; they are not given good opportunities in life to prosper and live out their dreams.

‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ I think all of you have heard this quote in some part of your life. But what is this initiative? It has become the need of the hour for us. From ancient times, the position of women in our society was not equal to that of men. They were considered subordinate to males, and due to this, they suffered unimaginably. They were deprived of basic rights like education, and from that time till now, the situation of women has not progressed much.

We are now living in the 21st century, but our nation still struggles to educate its female population. Women were treated as breeding machines; in some rural areas, they are still looked upon with this mindset. People see it as a waste of money and time to educate their girl child, especially since the problem is more concentrated in rural India, which comprises more of the population of our nation. This is not the end of the problem, but the situation has become worse due to evil norms like dowry prevailing in our society for eternity.

Since time immemorial, dowry has been a part of our society. Rich could easily wed off their daughters with a huge dowry, but the poor, what option were they left with? Female infanticide was their answer. Female children were killed as soon as they were born, due to which the sex ratio of the country kept on declining. And if some of them survived by chance, they had a long life full of difficulties, violence, harassment and whatnot.

To tackle the problem, our government has devised many initiatives, including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. The initiative’s main objective is to promote the education of female children and improve the sex ratio of girls in our country. The campaign was a combined effort of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The program aims to reduce girl infanticide and encourage girls to pursue education. When a girl is educated, not only will she prosper, but the whole of society will be benefited. The growth of a nation depends on both men and women and as the saying goes.

You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.

Brigham Young

Education should not be treated as a privilege, but it is a basic human right which should not be snatched from any child, irrespective of its gender. When we educate a girl, we are not just educating her, but our whole generation is being educated. And there have been so many examples where girls have excelled in their fields.

Whether we talk about science, politics, or building a company or a nation, you name the field, and you will find a woman outshining everyone else. So it is time now that we give to the women of our nation, which is their right, the power of education and see how the nation will prosper.
