The CM of Andhra Pradesh YSR, Jagan Mohan Reddy, launched the Jagananna Vidya Deveena Scheme on the 27th of November 2019. However, there has been an update in the scheme in the year 2023 itself. The Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme is a scheme initiated by the government of Andhra Pradesh. It aims to deliver fee reimbursement to the students studying in the ITI, MBA, B.Tech, B.Pharma and B.Ed Courses.

Jagananna Vidya Deevena can be understood as a fee reimbursement scheme and is for all those students who are studying in the course of polytechnic, engineering, ITI or medicine in Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, this scheme will benefit students from less privileged societies and minorities. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has aimed to make the coming generation 100% literate. They have moved a step forward by aiming to make all the students in their state graduates.

AP JVD Scheme Objectives

There are many students who cannot pursue their dreams due to their financial limitations. In other words, many students do not get the opportunity to study their desired courses due to their weak financial background. Therefore, to address these types of problems in mind, the CM of Andhra Pradesh initiated a Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme. This scheme has been prevalent for a long time in the state with other schemes like Kapari Bandhu and Cheyutha.

The primary objective of this scheme is to render financial assistance to those students who could not pursue their studies due to the weak financial background of their families.

This scheme will surely provide financial benefits to needy students and will give them the motivation to study further.

Payment Status of Jagananna Vidya Deevena

The payment by the state government will be made based on the course pursued by the candidates. For instance, if a student is pursuing an ITI course, they are entitled to receive an amount of Rupees 10,000 each year. Apart from this, if a student is pursuing a polytechnic course, then he or she will receive an amount of Rs 15,000 per year. Lastly, if a candidate wants to take admission to a degree course, they will be entitled to Rs 20,000 per year.

Courses under the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme

The candidates should note that the government has listed some of the courses. So if the candidate is pursuing any of these courses, they can avail of the benefits of this scheme. The course covered under this scheme has been provided below:

  • B.Tech
  • M.Tech
  • B.ed
  • M.Pharmacy
  • ITI
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Polytechnic
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate Courses
  • Master of Computer Application

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should be a citizen of Andhra Pradesh and should not possess four-wheelers in the family.
  • Their family income should not be more than Rs 2.5 Lakh P.A.
  • The candidates who are currently enrolled in the above-mentioned course in any of the government-aided or private colleges authorized by any of the state universities or Board. Apart from this the day scholar as well as the hostellers are also eligible for this scheme.
  • Students enrolled in the deemed university are not eligible for this scheme. Also, the students pursuing their courses via distance learning are also not eligible for this scheme.
  • The students whose family members are in government job or pay income tax will not be eligible to gain benefits under this scheme.
  • Children of sanitation workers are eligible under this scheme.
  • Candidates with 25 acres of dry and 10 acres of wetland are eligible for this scheme.
  • Those candidates whose residence is less than 1500 square feet in the city are also eligible for this scheme.
  • Lastly, if any of the family members of the student has paid the property tax then they are not entitled to this scheme.

Procedure to Apply for the JVD Scheme

  • Download the application form provided here>> JVD Application Form
  • Take out the printout of the application form.
  • Fill in the details required in the application form.
  • Fill in the details such as their name, a valid mobile number, and details about their family.
  • After carefully filling out the application form, the candidates must also enclose all the above documents.
  • Eventually, submit all the documents with the application form to the concerned department.

Important Guidelines regarding the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme

The below guidelines were launched on the 23rd of March, 2020.

  • If a beneficiary’s attendance is not upto 75%, then the candidates will not be entitled to fee reimbursement under this scheme.
  • This scheme will not apply to the students studying in the deemed university.
  • NRI and Management quota students are also not eligible for reimbursement under this scheme.
  • The attendance of the teaching,non-teaching staff and students should be done via Aadhaar -linked Biometric Attendance system.
