The literal translation of the scheme happens to be the Jagananna Accommodation Blessing Scheme, indicating that it shall support the accommodation problems. The scheme has benefitted nearly 3.89 lakh students and till now, the State Government of Andhra Pradesh has spent almost Rs. 668.995 crores in order to provide assistance to the beneficiaries, and they continue to do so.

The aim of the Scheme launched by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is to support the educational dreams of underprivileged students of the Andhra Pradesh State. While some schemes and scholarships support the education and tuition fees of the candidates, there is not much help available for accommodation at the time of education. Thus, the scheme will try to support the students and not let financial conditions be a deal-breaking obstacle in pursuing higher education for financially weaker sections.

Benefits of the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Vasathi Scheme

The State Government of Andhra Pradesh will provide the following benefits to the beneficiaries of the Jagananna Vasathi Scheme:

  • Financial help of Rs. 20,000 per annum will be granted to the Beneficiary pursuing an Undergraduate Degree Course.
  • For the candidates pursuing a Polytechnic course, Rs. Fifteen thousand will be provided on an annual basis.
  • The candidates who are pursuing education at Industrial Training Institute ITI will receive Rs. 10,000 annually.
  • Accommodation and Food Expenses of the Applicant will be covered by the State Government.

Eligibility Criteria for the JVD Vasathi Scheme

The candidates willing to apply for the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme launched by Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, will have to make sure that they are eligible for the benefits. The following eligibility conditions have been strictly notified for the prospects who are aiming to gain benefits through the scheme:

  • Only domiciled candidates of the Andhra Pradesh State are eligible to apply for the scheme.
  • The applicants must be pursuing any degree or Industrial Training Institute Course or a Polytechnic Course at any recognised institution in India.
  • The annual income of the family of the applicants must be less than 2.5 Lakh Rupees annually.
  • The land owned by the family must be less than 10 acres of wetland, 25 acres of dry land, or 25 acres of wet and dry land.
  • Additionally, the applicant’s family must not own more than 1500 sq. feet area of constructed housing or property.
  • The applicant must not have a current or ex-government Employee in the family.
  • Applicant’s family must be comprised of all Non-Tax Payees.
  • The family must not have any motor four-wheeler apart from any commercial vehicle such as a Tractor, Auto, or other users for the purpose of earning.

Apply for the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme

The State Government Authorities will accept the application forms in an offline mode. The potential prospects are supposed to download the form from the portal or obtain it from the Common Service Centre in their locality. Further, they must fill out the form in pen and paper and submit it to the respective department or government authority nearby. The authorities can also provide the application form if the willing applicants cannot find one at the Common Service Centre.

The form has to be submitted offline, and there are provisions for applying online. Additionally, no application fee will be charged by the Government Authorities to submit the form.

  • Details of the Bank Account of the Candidate or Mother of the Candidate, where the money is supposed to be dispersed.

Selection Criteria for the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme

The authorities will be considering the application forms submitted by the candidates. Further, they will observe every minute detail, and if they find the application valid, they shall conduct a verification of the applicant.
