What are the benefits of having a Ration Card?

The one and foremost benefit of the ration card is that the beneficiary can procure the subsidized ration that is being offered to them under state government policy or as per the direction of NFSA. The subsidized ration is issued as per the card they hold.

  • AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) cardholder get a 35 kg ration per month which have been bifurcated by the HP government into 20 kg of wheat and 15 kg of rice @ Rs 2/kg wheat and Rs 3/kg rice

Not Holding Ration Card: If any individual of the state does not possess a ration card, then he/she needs to produce a certificate from their panchayat/ Food and civil supplies officer/ or the concerned department or officer of your area in writing that you are not having any ration card and this certificate need to be affixed with the ration card application form.

Temporary Ration Card: Such a temporary ration card is issued to migratory individuals and the validity of this ration card should not exceed more than 3 months.

Duplicate Ration Card: In case you lost your ration card, or it has been mutilated, torn, or illegible then the officials issue a duplicate ration card and for this applicants need to submit an application in the prescribed format along with a requisite fee.

In Case of Transfer: If any individual is being transferred from one place to another, in this case, he/she can apply for a new ration card but the applicant needs to present the deletion certificate from the previous place and affix it with the application form.
