- The benefit of Service Discharge Benefit Scheme ( SDBS) – As the GDS were not able to participate in National Pension Scheme, therefore Indian government launched the scheme SDBS for the GDS employees and for the department. This scheme was launched recently and is managed by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority known as PFRDA. The contribution to this scheme has also increased from Rs 200 to Rs 300 for GDS as well as for the department.
- The Ex-gratia gratuity has also increased from Rs 60,000 to Rs 1.5 lakhs.
- Severance Amount-It is basically the amount the India Post will pay to the employee as a goodwill gesture in case of termination of employment. It has also been increased from Rs 60,000 to Rs 1.5 Lakhs.
- Maternity Leave– This leave is also beneficial for employees who can take advantage of this leave in their time of need. It is provided for 180 days and the salary is also paid by the department to the employee for the same period.
