As you all know that during the lockdown the central government started the PMGKY in which many benefits have been provided to the lower middle class and other class people to reduce the extra burden during the COVID-19 lockdown. Under this, the government also provided free ration benefits to around 80 Cr beneficiaries holding a valid ration card. The central government has extended this scheme third time.

The PMGKY has basically two broad components the first one is ensuring the availability of food and the second one is income support.

Benefits of the PMGKY Scheme
PM Garib Kalyan Yojana – 5 kg Wheat/rice-free:

1 KG Free Pulse
All ration cardholders will also get the 1 kg of pulse-free from the ration dealer for the next three-month pulse could be anything related to the region preferences it will be up to people what they preferred said FM
And with this PM Garib Kalyan anna yojana, 80 Cr people will be benefited across India
Hike for MNREGA Worker
All workers who are registered through MGNREGA will also get the hike of Rs 20 earlier it was 182 and now they will get 202 per day and it will directly benefit over 5 crore families.
Corona Warriors
The government also comes with an insurance scheme to the doctor nurses and others who fall under the essential services and fighting 24*7 with this deadly virus will get 50 lakh insurance.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
All those farmers who are waiting for the next due installment of PM Kisan Yojana and those who didn’t get any installment will get their installment by the first week of April 2020 and with this around 8.69 Cr farmers will be benefitted.
EPF Will be pay by the government
FM has also said in her statement that they are going to pay the EPF on behalf of employees and employers but only to those who have less than 100 employees in their company and having a monthly income of less than 15000. This government will pay 12% + 12% (24%) for the next three months.
Widower/Old age/disabled pensioner extra benefit
The government will give an ex-gratia to the poor widow, old age women who are getting pension, and citizen who is above the age of 60 will also get an extra Rs 1000 in their account for the next three months so that they will not face any problem under this lockdown and the amount will be directly credited to their account in two installments. Jan Dhan Yojana Account Holder
There are more than 20 crore women’s who have Jan Dhan Yojana account and all these account holders will get the benefit of Rs 500/ month for the next three month and this amount will be directly credited into their account in two installments so that they will not face any problem in a period of disruption. From 2 April 2020 the Jan Dhan account holder starts getting benefits from this scheme.

Ujjawala Yojana
After securing family with food and cash now the government is trying to help those who are already getting benefits under the Ujjawala Yojna scheme and in this scheme, these Ujjawala gasholders will get the cylinder free of cost for the next three months and they do not need to pay anything for that.
SHG will extra 10 Lakh Collateral Loan
In further announcement FM minister Nirmala sitharaman also said that there are almost 63 lakhs SHG workers who are benefitting more than 7 crore families and under the national rural livelihood, they will get an extra 10 lakh rupees collateral loan. Earlier, they are getting 10 lakh now it will be a total of 20 lakhs collateral loan. Under this, they do not have to submit any security and this will applies with immediate effect FM added.
PF Scheme Regulated
The PF scheme regulation will also be amended because of the pandemic situation and it will allow the non-refundable advance of 75% of the amount standing credit to the user or 3 months of wages whichever among them is lower and because of this, approximately 4.8 crore workers will be benefitted.

Construction Worker
FM said that they already have an existing fund for the welfare of building and other construction workers (BOCW) and the amount is a total of Rs 31,000 Cr and this amount can be used for 3.5 Cr construction workers and the government also suggested to the state that they must utilize it for the welfare of the worker.
