Delhi Police Constable Examination Pattern

The examination pattern for the recruitment of constables under the Delhi police will follow the given procedure.

Computer Based Examinations (CBT)

Applicants have to appear initially for the computer-based examination conducted by the authority. The examination will have the provision of negative marking in it. The examination will be of 100 marks and the duration of the examination is 90 minutes. Have a detail of the computer-based examinations below.

  • There is no sectional time limit for the category examination mentioned above. All the sections are to be completed altogether within the time limit of 90 minutes.
  • There is a provision of negative marks in the examination which will be 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Language for the computer-based test shall be bilingual (Hindi and English)
  • After the completion of a written test, the authority will publish the answer key for examination. Applicants can raise the question regarding their query on the answers printed on the answer key and for that, they have to pay 100 Rs for each question.

Delhi Police Constable Syllabus for Written Examinations

Questions will be asked on the subject of Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Computers, and Current affairs. Applicants need to go through the complete syllabus given in the official notification. The level of examination will be matriculation/class 12th based.

Reasoning AbilityQuestions regarding non-verbal and verbal reasoning aptitude will be covered in this section. Applicant must know how to differentiate between images and should have a good knowledge of spatial orientation, discrimination observations, coding and decoding, spatial visualization, Artimetical Figures, and Reasons. General Knowledge/ Current AffairsQuestions from the latest trending topics will be asked in this category. Applicant needs to have complete knowledge about the six-month activity both national and international in the field of History, Sports, Culture, Indian Economy, General Polity, Scientific Research, Famous Personality etc. Applicants can refer to the different general knowledge guides to prepare for the examination.
Mental AptitudeQuestions will be asked regarding the topic of Whole Numbers, Number Systems, Ratio and Proportion, Computation of Whole Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical operations, Averages, Profit and Loss, Percentages, Decimals and Fractions, Ratios, Time and Work, Discount, Interests, SI, CI, Mensuration, etc.
Computer Basics TestQuestions for the examination will be asked on the topic of Word Processing elements that include Opening and Closing Documents, Word Processing Basics, Text Creation, Formatting the Text, and its presentation features.

Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT)

The applicant has to clear the two rounds of tests under the physical test. Firstly, the applicant has to undergo the Physical endurance test and after qualifying the PET, shortlisted candidates will move to the next round of tests i.e. Physical Measurement Test.   • Applicants have to clear the 1600-meter race first after that they will be selected for the long and high jump. The 1600-meter race is qualifying in nature. Applicants who do not qualify the race test will not be eligible to appear for further tests.
  • For the high jump and Long jump tests, the candidate shall be given 3 attempts and the best one will be taken into consideration.
  • Female applicants who are pregnant will not undergo the physical endurance test. However, after they are fit, the authority will conduct the test for the female and till then the vacancy shall be kept in reserve.

Physical Measurement Test

The standard for physical measurement tests for male candidates is mentioned below.

ChestThe criteria for chest measurement shall be 81 cm with a minimum of 4 cm of expansion which is 81-85cm. For the relaxation provided for a reserved class, refer to the official notification.
