In the journey of science and technology, India grew extensively in the last decades when APJ Abdul Kalam was active. The former President of India and popularly recognised as the “Missile Man of India”, Kalam was the man of the people and probably one of the most loved leaders in the subcontinent.
It would be an understatement to just recognise him as a man who was a beloved President of the nation. He was so much more than just that. Today, I aim to discuss the influential and inspirational life of Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam and pay him tribute by commemorating his contributions to this country.
Born and brought up in a poverty-stricken family of Tamil Muslims that resided in Rameshwaram. His father was a boat owner and imam of a local Mosque while his mother happened a housemaker. He was the youngest of five siblings, four brothers and a sister. It is amusing how a child born in such an underprivileged and minority community rose to fame and name by all right means and for the right reasons.
He even had to sell newspapers in his childhood to meet ends with the general expenses of his family. He is for sure an exemplary personality.
