Chandigarh JAC Mop Up Seat Allotment Result 2021: The Joint Admission Committee or JAC is the group that allows a common admission procedure for many colleges in a city. This committee is also set up in Chandigarh to sort out the admission procedure for B.Tech, BE, Integrated BE, BArch, and MBA based on the JEE Main exam. The committee is currently considering the JEE Mains result for the allotment of seats in the BTech course. It is all set to release the Mop Up allotment list on 3rd December 2021. JAC Chandigarh Admission 2021

The Joint Admission Committee is the council that heads the admission procedure for the technical courses in the Colleges in Chandigarh. The consideration result is the JEE Mains and the seats are allotted according to the ranks of the applicants. the ranks in the Joint Entrance Examination is declared by the National Testing Agency which is appointed by the government to conduct the exam. This exam is primarily conducted for admission into the IITs and NITs. Various other colleges rely on the same result for admissions. The JAC being a government body also relies on the same examination and testing agency and hence does not conduct an examination of their own. The main purpose of JAC is to head the admissions and carry out their procedure in a smooth manner.

Acceptance into the following colleges is dependent upon the allotment list released by the JAC:

  1. Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
  2. University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh.
  3. Dr. S. S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, Punjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh.
  4. University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University SSG Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur.
  5. Chandigarh College of Architecture, Sector 12, Chandigarh.

A total of 1435 seats are offered by these colleges and each of those seats is allotted to the students by the JAC.

Chandigarh JAC Seat Allotment Criteria

The following criteria are followed while selecting the candidates for admission into the above-listed colleges:

  1. The allotment list is formed on the basis of rank declared by the National Testing Agency or NTA in the JEE Mains exam.
  2. For students willing to continue with BArch, the seats are allotted on the basis of Rank in the Architecture part of the JEE Mains.
  3. The student can be considered by the JAC only is he/she has cleared the 12th board examination for any recognised educational board.
  4. For colleges except those in Punjab University, a Chandigarh quota is applicable. Only the students who have qualified the 12th standard exam from schools located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh and are also recognised by the administration board are reserved under this category.
  5. The counselling procedure before the final admission contitutes of three rounds, namely one, two, and three. Students who have not registered for the for these rounds can appy for counselling through a SPOT round.

Documents needed

The following documents are needed to apply for the admissions headed by the Joint Admission Committee:

  • JEE Mains result card
  • Class X certificate as the birth proof
  • Detailed marksheet for the 12th class examination result
  • Character Certificate from the school or institution last attended by the applicant
  • Migration certificate from the same institution
  • Transfer certificate from the last attended school or institute
  • Gap Year affidavit, if applicable.

JAC Chandigarh Counselling Procedure

The admission procedure into the aforementioned colleges is basically divided into 5 phases. A student has to go through all of these phases and then he/she can be admitted into any of the courses offered by these colleges through the Joint Admission Committee. Once the students are selected in any of the three rounds, they will have to pay the applicable admission fee online using any of the listed payment methods or through the process of a challan. The phases are here as follows:

Registration

The registration process for the admissions into the colleges in Chandigarh under JAC Chandigarh is carried out in an online mode. The applications are invited online on the official JAC Chandigarh portal. The students have to register in order to get a chance to be considered for admission. The following is the method to register on the portal:

  1. Open the official JAC Chandigarh portal at chdenggadmissions.nic.in.
  2. Enter all the details including the JEE roll number at the time of registration.
  3. Attest all the documents in a digital and required format.
  4. Pay the registration fee.
  5. The applicant will be issued with an Application number. This application number will be further used to extract information in all levels of counselling process.

The registration fee for the general category is Rs. 2,500 while for the reserved category is Rs.1,250.

Choice Filling

The students have the choice of applying to the college of their preference. They can easily select which college they wish to get admitted into and if they are eligible for a choice, they will get the college of choice. In case the students of higher ranks take up the seats in the college of their will, they will be admitted into any other college on the basis of the JEE Merit.

Locking of Choices

Once the institute of choice is opted by the applicant needs to be, locked in order to fixate their choices.

Seat Allotment

The seat allotment procedure is carried out in three rounds. The students will better ranks will qualify in the first round. After that, the rest of the rounds will be conducted. Once the three rounds are over, the remaining students and those students who are interested but did not apply for previous rounds can apply for the SPOT round.

Reporting

The selected candidates need to report after the release of the allotment of seats for further proceedings.
