Alok Kumar Rai, the Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, initiated the Shodh Medha Scholarship. It was started last year with the main objective of encouraging women candidates to enrol in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme to promote the involvement of female candidates. Prof. Poonam Tandon informed the students of the details of the scholarship programme through an official notice stating all the crucial elements as well.

The authority has organized a committee to select students for this scholarship, especially for this purpose. The committee will analyze applications based on their suitability and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

UP Shodh Medha Scholarship Benefits

The scheme is backed by the Students Welfare Fund (SWF). These funds will provide financial support to the students in need so that they can pursue their research programmes without any barriers. With this, the eligible students will get a monthly financial aid of Rs. 5000/-.

The assistance will be provided for three years to the students who enrol for the Shodh Medha Scholarship. However, the scholarship will be provided for the initial period of one year and will be extended for two years as per the advice of the Departmental Research Committee.
