About NTSE
The National Talent Scholarship examination is a national-level scholarship examination organized annually under National Talent Search Scheme. It is conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The main aim of conducting the NTSE exam is to search for talented students from different parts of India and award them with scholarships.
Selection of candidates for the award of scholarship is done on the basis of the selection exam. This selection exam is conducted in two stages viz.- Stage I and Stage II exam.
Stage I exam is conducted at the state level by the designated authority. NCERT has appointed a Liaison Officer in every state and Union Territory to provide assistance to the students and to carry all tasks related to the stage I exam. However, the dates of the exam are decided by NCERT.
Apart from this, all the activities from the submission of applications to the declaration of result are carried out the respective state/UT authorities. NCERT has no interference in the state-level exam. Stage I result is published on the official website of the State Authorities. Therefore, in case of any query related to the stage I students should contact the concerned authority or respective LO.
On the other hand, the stage II exam is conducted on a national level by NCERT itself. Candidates selected in stage I are invited for the stage II exam. A final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in stage I and stage II. This final merit list is hosted on the official website of NCERT and finally, scholarships are awarded to deserving students selected from different parts of the country.
