The Department of Science and Technology DST recently announced that they have terminated the KVPY program. The authorities have subsumed it with the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research Program INSPIRE program. Candidates studying in the PhD level program in the Sciences field can apply for fellowships. The authorities have now added 300 more scholarships to the scheme. The authorities shall soon release a notification to provide information regarding the same.

What is the KVPY INSPIRE Program?

The Department of Science and Technology recently announced the termination of the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana KVPY Examination. The authorities did so, but they further announced that they should be submerging the program with the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research Program INSPIRE fellowships.

As per the new scheme, KVPY INSPIRE, the authorities will be providing scholarships to the candidates who have enrolled in the PhD programs. The scholarships will only be limited to the candidates studying the sciences field.

The authorities have furthermore added the awarding of 300 more scholarships under the program. This occurred as a result of the abolishment of the KVPY Examination. The authorities shall use the finances saved in the same process to introduce more awards.

KVPY Inspire Scholarship Important Dates

The application procedure for the KVPY Inspire program is anticipated to commence in November 2023. However, the authorities have yet to confirm the expected dates. There is no information available on the schedule of the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana and Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research program.

It is expected that the authorities will conduct the selection of candidates for the KVPY-Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research Fellowship program in the following manner:

Eligibility Criteria for the KVPY Inspire Program

The eligibility criteria for the KVPY Inspire program are expected to be the same as for the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research Program since the scholarships will be provided similarly. Earlier, the program was for all candidates enrolled in Class 11, Undergraduate, or Postgraduate programs. However, the authorities have now limited the fellowship program to the PhD level. • Only Indian Nationals can apply for this program.
• The candidates need to have passed post-graduate level degrees in subjects of the science field.
• The minimum requirement for marks to get enrolled in the program has been specified as 70%.
• The candidates who have obtained the first rank in postgraduation programs in pharmacy, engineering, veterinary, or agricultural sciences can also apply for the scholarship.
• The University Grants Commission UGC must recognise the degree obtained by the applicants.
• No age limit has been informed for the program so far. The candidates must keep checking this article for regular updates on the program.

Apply Online for KVPY Inspire

The aspirants for the KVPY Inspire who wish to apply for the program need to observe that it is since 2023 that the authorities have subsumed the two programs into each other. The candidates must refer back to this space for all the updates closely. It is anticipated that the authorities will invite online applications for the program as they used to for both KVPY and Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research Program separately. Follow the subsequent steps to apply online:

1. Open the official portal of KVPY INSPIRE for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana and Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research program.
2. On the Home page of the portal, check the application link.
3. Tap on Apply Online for KVPY-INSPIRE.
4. The Registration Form will open up on the screen.
5. Enter all the details of the candidate as required in the application form.
6. Upload the documents required in formats and sizes as specified by the authorities.
7. Review the application form, and finally, tap on the Submit option.
8. Print the submitted copy of the application form for reference in the future.

Selection Criteria for the KVPY Inspire Program

The Candidates who will apply for the fellowship under the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana and Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research or KVPY INSPIRE program will be selected based on the merit list. The authorities will curate a selection list based on the scores of the candidates in the last examination they attempted. However, it can be anticipated that the authorities can conduct a special national-level entrance examination for selection purposes.
