E-Grantz Scholarship is a web-based scholarship portal of the Kerala Government, which is solely dedicated to providing scholarships to the reserved category students of Kerala. The portal acts as a medium of grant distribution to the backward category students of Kerala, giving them financial aid to complete their education.

The E-Grantz Scholarship is provided to the students at the post-metric level and the Pre-Matric level to all the students hailing from the scheduled caste/ tribes or any other backward class. Such students can avail of this scholarship and receive monthly educational aid from the government.

About the E-Grantz Scholarship

As you know by now, the E-Grantz scholarship has been offered by the Kerala Government. The government manages the distribution of the scholarship amount among deserving students. The government’s guidelines are stringent to support the backward classes of the State.

Another major point concerning the scholarship is that this scholarship is offered, not only to the students but also to the institutions that can enter the scholarship, in favour of the student.

The scholarship, by far has financially assisted around 3 lakh students under numerous institutions. The scholarship is provided for Diploma courses, Vocational courses, degree courses and other doctoral degree courses.

The benefit amount offered through the scholarship is on the basis of the Academic eligibility of the student and the category to which he belongs. The amount is directly transferred to the bank account of the deserving student.

The students who are interested in the scholarship can apply online through the official portal of the E-Grantz Scholarship. The official portal has now been upgraded to 3.0 version to make it user-friendly. So, the whole process has become more convenient for the students.

Those students who cannot apply online by any means can also make an application for the scholarship through the Akshaya Centres. Through these centres, the students will obtain a hard copy of the online application. Students just need to submit this copy along with the other documents (Income proof, ID proof, Age Proof, Caste Certificate, Marksheet of the last exam) to the head of the Institute in a period of 1 week.

Benefits

Benefits under the E-Grantz Scholarship are provided to the students through a monthly stipend. There are criteria set for the same. Some of the requirements are detailed below:

Eligibility Criteria

Before the Interested candidates apply for the scholarship, make sure to check the eligibility criteria set up for this scholarship. The foremost criterion is that the student should be a domicile of Kerala.

Educational Qualification

• The student must be enrolled in the Post-Matriculation course program under any acknowledged institution.
• Should possess attendance of a minimum of 75%
• The admission of the candidate is essential to have been done under the reserved quota and should have been based on merit.

Categorial Eligibility

The student applying should be anyone belonging to:

• Scheduled Caste
• Socially Backward Communities
• Economically Backward Communities
• Other Eligible Communities
• Other Backward Class

Application Procedure

For anyone pursuing education under any of the institutions mentioned by the official department, can submit the application through the institution. Or else, you can apply by following these steps:

STEP 1: Go to the official portal of E-Grantz. Click on the icon ‘OTR‘ (One-time registration).

STEP 2: You will be redirected to another page. Here, you will be asked to fill in your ‘Aadhar Number. Validate your details by clicking on the icon displaying ‘Validate Aadhar‘

STEP 3: Fill in details such as E-mail ID, phone number etc., Submit and Click on the icon displaying ‘Register‘

STEP 4: After registering in the portal successfully. You have to log in again from the official page of the portal. Click on the icon displaying ‘ Student Login’.

STEP 5: As you are redirected to the next page, fill in your aadhaar no./ email id and Password. Click on Sign in. This will open an application form on your display page.

STEP 5: Complete the application form by filling in all your Basic details, details related to your bank, your institution., etc.

STEP 6: After filling up all your details, click on the icon displaying to apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship

STEP 7: You will be redirected to the page where all the scholarships will be enlisted. Click on your desired scholarship and start applying

STEP 8: Fill in all the extra details required. Upload the required documents and click on ‘Submit‘.

Important Dates of E-Grantz Scholarship

This scholarship scheme does not entail an application date or time. The student seeking the scholarship should have the domicile of Kerala and belong to the reserved category.

Interested students who want to claim the scholarship can do so by applying to the scholarship within one week of officially joining any of the course programs listed by the authority.

Application Status

The E-Grantz portal also offers to track the status of your scholarship. Students can check their application status by following the steps:

• Visit the official E-Grantz Portal. Click on the tab offering ‘ Track Application’

• Type in your Aadhar number and your DOB. You will see an icon of ‘Track Application’. Click on the icon.

• All your essential details with your application status will be displayed here.
