WB GDS Merit List 2023
Selection of the candidates for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) will be made purely on the basis of merit of the candidates. No examination will be conducted to select suitable candidates, selection will be based on the marks of the applicants in SSC i.e. class 10th as per the selection policy of the Department of Post, Govt. of India.
As the eligibility criteria for this post is class 10th, candidates who had mentioned any higher education qualification in their applications will not be given any priority or weight. Selection will be simply done according to the automatically generated WB GDS merit list.
Tie Breaking
While preparing the merit list, if two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the qualifying exam then the following tie-breaking criteria will be used in the same order mentioned here to determine the order of West Bengal GDS merit-
- Candidates older in age will be given priority

- SC candidate (female)
- OBC candidate (female)
- Unreserved category candidate (female)
- ST (male)

WB GDS Result: Document Verification
After the declaration of result, shortlisted candidates have to attend the document verification process for final selection. These candidates have to report to the designated centre on the scheduled date along with all the required documents for the purpose of verification and final appointment.
Therefore, it is advised to all the candidates to carry all the required documents/certificates in original with them when they will appear for document verification. The time and date of the document verification centre will be intimated to candidates by the district recruiting authority after the announcement of WB Post GDS result.
Selected candidates have to report to the designated venue with the original and a photocopy of all the documents uploaded online at the time of online application. All the documents will be verified at the verification centre and verified candidates will be finally selected.
