Pathani Samanta Exam is conducted by the state education board of Odisha to help brilliant students. In this scholarship exam, the students of classes 6th to 12th can participate. The exam conducting authority has divided the exam into the following different stages; Stage-I (7 years) Class-VI to VIII, Stage-II (4 years) Class-IX to XII, and Stage-III (2 years) Class-XI to XII (1 year).

The result of the scholarship exam will be published as a merit list or selection list and candidates can also see the result of their individual performance with the help of their roll number or name. Officials of the board will prepare a PMST merit list based on the marks of the candidates. A separate list will be prepared for the students at every stage.
