SSC CGL 2022 Online Application: Combined Graduate level examination will be conducted for recruiting posts of group B and group C in various departments of the Indian government. The posts that have been specified by the staff selection commission will be filled up by candidates who will qualify for the CGL. These posts are as per the guidelines of the government of India and had associated with various ministries or departments or constitutional bodies in the country. The candidates must apply online in order to appear for the prelim exam.

SSC CGL 2022 Online Application Notification

The staff selection commission under the government of India uploaded the combined graduate level notification on 17th September. The authorities will invite online applications for the test. Candidates who will be able to register themselves for the examination completely after paying the application fees will appear for the computer-based test of CGL examination in Dec 2022. The last day to pay the online fee is 14/10/2022 while the offline challan is 15/10/2022.

The candidates will also be allowed to make corrections in the application form from 19/10/2022. On the basis of these applications, candidates will be issued with admit card to appear for the first level test which will be a computer-based examination. The first level of examination will be followed by tier II examination and descriptive paper as per tier III. The applicant must apply online as per the instructions of the staff selection commission.

SSC CGL 2022 Eligibility Criteria

In order to be able to attempt the CGL exam, the candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria. The following conditions have been laid by the staff selection commission to decide the eligibility:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan.
  • Tibetan refugees who settled in India before 1962 can also attempt the exam
  • A person who has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Mawai, and Zaire and wish to settle permanently in India can also appear for the examination
  • The minimum age of the candidate is allowed as 18 years.
  • The maximum age of the candidates should not be more than 32 years. However, The age limit entirely depends upon the post. Additionally, they will be provided certain relaxations for the upper age limit.
  • The educational qualifications depend upon the requirement of the aforementioned post but the candidates should at least have a bachelors degree from a recognised university or institute in order to be able to apply for the exam.
  • Qualification will only be considered if the candidates have the proper documents for them before 23 January 2022.

SSC CGL 2022 Online Application Procedure

The candidates can apply for the combined graduate-level exam online. There is no provision of an offline application for the exam. To register for CGL 2022, observe the following steps:

  1. Open the official SSC portal or staff selection commission website at ssc.nic.in.
  2. On the homepage, check the main menu at the top.
  3. Click on “Apply” and the application portal will open.
  4. Tap on “CGL” to check all the registrations for CGL examination.
  5. Check the link attested to the notice of “Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2022”.
  6. Click on “Apply”.
  7. The application form will open up.
  8. Enter all the basic details such as Aadhaar number, ID number, name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Date of Birth and other details.
  9. Verify each detail after filling it in. Click on “Save”.
  10. Enter the “Additional and Contact Details” of the candidate. Save the details.
  11. Finally, upload the digitally scanned signatures and passport size photographs in the required sizes and format.
  12. Fill the application fee through an online save transfer window and submit the application by tapping on “Submit“.

SSC CGL Application Fees

The application fee differs on the basis of the category candidate belongs to. Generally, the application fee is Rs.100. However, for female candidates, reserved candidates such as SC, ST, ESM, and PWD, there is no application fee. These candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Only the unreserved candidates will have to pay the application fee through the online safe transfer window. They can choose the mode of payment as UPI, credit or debit card or net banking.

There is also a provision of submitting the fee in an offline mode by downloading the bank challan. This challan can only be paid at SBI branches in cash. The application form will only be considered as complete when the fee will be paid.

SSC CGL Selection Procedure

The combined graduate level examination will be conducted in 4 stages. The candidates will have to clear all the examinations in order to qualify for the CGL. After clearing the CGL, they will only be called in for document verification and the selection will depend upon that. The following examinations will be conducted under CGL:

  • Tier I: computer-based examination or CBE
  • Tier II: computer-based examination of CBE
  • Tier III: Pen and paper mode of examination. It will be descriptive paper and will be held in an off-line mode.
  • Tier IV: If applicable, a computer proficiency test or a test to examine the data entry skills of the candidates will be conducted.

SSC CGL 2022 Examination Procedure

The exam that will be conducted at level one and level two will be of a definite pattern. For level one, there will be four subjects, general intelligence/ reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, and English comprehension. 25 questions will be set from each subject of marks 50. In short, there will be 100 questions for 200 marks and 1 hour time will be allotted to the candidates to finish the exam. In the case of the second level, four papers will be conducted separately. SSC CGL Paper and Marking Scheme

All the questions will be of the objective type. The question will be with multiple choices and the candidates can attempt the paper in either English or Hindi except for the comprehension which will compulsorily be in English. In Level I there will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. Whereas, in level II, the negative marking will be 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. Only in the subject of English language and comprehension, the negative marking will increase to 0.50. In II Level, Paper I and Paper II are compulsory for every post. However, it entirely depends on the requirement of the post for paper three and paper four.
In the case of the III Level examination which will be of Descriptive type, the maximum marks will be 100 and the time allowed would be 1 Hour. The candidates will have to attempt the paper in pen and paper mode, which is offline. It will be required the candidate has to write an essay or precis or letter or an application or any such comprehension in English or Hindi. The last is Level IV which is the skill test. It will be an examination where the candidate’s computer proficiency and data entry speed will be examined.
