JKPSC Medical Officer Pay Scale

The candidates who will get recruited for the post of Medical Officer in the Health and Medical Education Department by the Jammu and Kasmir Public Service Commission will receive a pay scale of Level 9. The range of the salary would be Rs. 52,700 – Rs. 1,66,700. The salary had been finalized on the basis of the norms and guidelines followed by the Indian Government.

JKPSC Medical Officer Recruitment Qualification

The candidates who are domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir can only apply for the pots. The candidates must be educationally qualified and only in that case, their applications will be accepted. MBBS or ones who possess a graduation degrees in the Medical field are only qualified enough to apply for the post of Medical Officer. Other than that, the candidates who satisfy the educational criteria as per sub-section 3 of section 13 of the Indian Medical Act of 1956 can also apply for the posts. The candidates must have proof of their educational qualifications.

Age Criteria

The age of the candidates depends on the category they belong to. There is age relaxation that has been provided to the candidates entirely on the basis of their Socially or Economically Backward class. The following age criteria have been specified by JKPSC:

Documents required for application

The candidates will have to possess certain documents in order to apply for the 21 posts of Medical Officer. Those who will not be able to furnish any of the subsequently mentioned documents will be automatically considered ineligible:

  • The domicile Certificate of the candidate proves that he/she belongs to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Secondary School Certificate or Matriculation Pass Marksheet will serve as the Date of Birth Certificate.
  • For the purpose of the ID proof, any of the following documents:
    • Aadhar Card or E-Aadhar
    • Voter ID Card
    • PAN Card
    • Driving License
    • Passport
    • Employer ID in case the candidate is employed
    • Institutional Identity Card
  • Caste or Category Certificate, only if applicable.
  • Medical Degree Certificate.
  • All the mark sheets of the various semesters or years of the Degree course.
  • Registration Certificate.
  • Internship Certificate.

JKPSC Medical Officer Recruitment Application Procedure

The only mode of application that has been so far devised in order to apply for a post is Online. The candidates must head to the website of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission in order to apply for the posts. The following application procedure needs to be observed while applying online for the 247 Medical Officer posts:

  1. Visit the official portal of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission at jkpsc.nic.in.
  2. On the home page, check the main menu at the top.
  3. Select the dropdown list of “Recruitment”.
  4. Tap on the option of “Jobs/Online Application” in the list.
  5. The Recruitment page of the JKPSC will consequently open up displaying the various options regarding the recruitment application.
  6. Click on “Apply” in the “Direct Recruitment” box.
  7. The Recruitment Information page will consequently open up. Click on “Apply Now” in front of the post of Medical Officer.
  8. The candidates will have to login in order to be able to apply online. The candidates who are not registered will have to create an account first. The candidates can register on the JKPSC by tapping “Sign Up”.
  9. Finally, the application form will open up for the post of Medical Officer.
  10. Enter the required details in the application.
  11. Upload all the aforementioned documents in the required sizes and formats.
  12. Finally, pay the applicable application fee through a safe online transfer window and tap on “Submit”.

JKPSC Medical Officer Application Fee

The candidates need to pay the application fee in order to completely submit the application. Those applications that are submitted without the applicable application fee will be considered incomplete and thus rejected. However, the registration charges largely depend upon the category to which the candidates belong. The following application fees need to be paid by the candidates:

  • General Category: Rs. 1,000.
  • Reserved Categories: Rs. 500
  • Physically Handicapped Candidates: Rs. 0

JKPSC MO Selection Procedure

The JKPSC authorities will follow the method of direct recruitment in order to select the candidates for the post of Medical Officer. The candidates who will register for the post of Medical Officer with the aforementioned details will have to go through a test-based selection procedure. A written test will be formulated that will be set. The test will be based on MCQs or Multiple Choice Questions.

There will be 100 questions with 4 answers each to choose the correct option from. A total duration of two hours or 120 minutes will be assigned in order to complete the paper. The candidates will be awarded one mark for every correct answer and will be negatively marked with 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The candidates who will clear the benchmarks set by the JKPSC will automatically be selected for further appointments.
