One big change that has been done by the Indian Navy in their recruitment process is that they are not going to hold any INET (O) Examination for AT-21 due to COVID-19 and the final merit list for the course will be based only on SSB Marks. Indian Navy Short Service Commission Officer: Important points

  • Only such applicants are eligible to apply who have completed or in the last year of their bachelor’s and secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. OR
  • Possess a degree in Engineering with 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA equivalent to it
  • Candidate can submit only one Indian Navy SSC Officer application and…
  • They can submit their preference for other branch cadres if they fulfill its criteria.
  • Only 900 applicants will be selected for pilot entry while the remaining will be considered for the other branch cadre as opted in the application.
  • Candidates will not be considered for any cadre which they not selected in the application
  • Branch cadre will be allocated on the grounds of merit and preference and also on fulfilling other criteria such as education and medical standards.
  • Applicants who have valid & Current CPL issued by DGCA and fulfil the age criteria can apply for Pilot entry.

Selection Process for Indian Navy SSC Officer

Candidate’s applications will be shortlisted as per the entries they preferred and mark obtained by them in the qualifying examination. Candidates obtained marks will be normalized using the formula

NM = 𝑀𝐴 − 𝑀𝑆𝐴 (𝑀 − 𝑀𝑆𝐶)/ (𝑀𝐶 − 𝑀𝑆𝐶) + 𝑀𝑆

and candidates completed MCA, MBA, M.Sc., B.Sc., and B.Com. and obtained marks in all semesters will be considered.

  • Authorities will shortlist approximately 8300 applicants for SSB except for SSC Pilot.
  • Those who will be shortlisted will be intimated through email or SMS.
  • As this year no INET examination will be conducted, so the candidates will be shortlisted on the grounds of marks secured in SSB and later will be called for medical examination.
