UGC Scholarship 2022 Merit list: The University Grants Commission recently invited online applications for Scholarships. The application portal is open till 31st October 2022. The selection list for the scholarships will be out very soon before the Institute and Defective Verification on 15 November 2022. The candidates can check the merit list online on the scholarship portal. The scholarship was released for the benefit of students in the North Eastern Region belonging to the Economically Weaker Section. UGC Scholarship 2022 Merit list
The scholarships offered by University Grants Commission or any other government body are all handled commonly by the National Scholarship Portal Authorities. The application procedure was conducted through the National Scholarship portal. However, all the important and latest information is provided on the official University Grants Commission portal but the merit list will be uploaded on the NSP website. The candidates will first be selected on the basis of their submitted applications. Later on, a merit list will be prepared and released of all these selected students in an organised manner. Students with better merit will have a better chance of getting the scholarship. Additionally, the applicants will have to go through the Institute and Defective Verification in order to finally get selected.

The candidates will find the UGC Scholarship Merit List on the National Scholarship Portal. To check the scheme-wise approved list of applicants, check the subsequent method:
- Open the official National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.
- On the homepage, click on “Services” in the top menu.
- In the dropdown list, select “List of Applicants processed for Scholarship“.
- A common form will open up asking for details of the application.
- Choose the Academic Year, Application Type, Ministry, Scheme, State, and District.
- Enter your Mobile number and Name.
- Enter the Captcha Code Given in the box.
- Press “Submit“.
- The list of selected candidates as sanctioned by the Commission will be visible on the web page.
UGC Scholarship 2022
The University Grants Commission is a government body that is responsible for managing the higher studies of students at the university level. This commission also offers scholarships to certain students. The students need to register themselves at the National Scholarship Portal in order to apply for any of the UGC scholarships. Four scholarships were available under the University Grants Commission for eligible students to apply for. Registration for each of the scholarships is open till 31 October 2022. The Defective and Institute Verification for the scholarships will be done till 15 November 2022. Hence, it is expected that the merit or selection list will be out before that.

Ishan Uday Scholarship
The Ishan Uday Scholarship is for Candidates who belong to the northeastern region and are unable to pursue higher studies due to economical weakness. Due to this, the students belonging to EWS in northeastern states have to drop the year. To overcome this, the University Grants Commission planned to award 10,000 scholarships every year to such candidates. The UGC will assist the students by financing them. Those who are studying in general degree courses will receive Rs.5400 per month and those who are in technical or medical or professional or paramedical courses will receive funds of Rs.7800 per month for managing the educational exp[enditures. The students must be a citizen of the northeastern states and have a family income of less than Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per month in order to be eligible.
PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child
In order to promote the postgraduate education of single girl child candidates, the University Grants Commission decided to award 3000 scholarships to such students. The girl’s child must be in a Post Graduate Course and qualify the Single Girl Child criteria. Rs.36,200 per year for a period of two years only will be funded by the commission which is the complete duration of a Post Graduation
course. However, additional grants for hostel charges, medical charges, etc will not be covered in this scholarship. This scholarship will also promote the idea of Nuclear families and support the idea of Woman Empowerment.
PG Scholarships for University Rank Holders
Students who are meritorious enough to secure ranks at the University Level will be benefitted from this scholarship scheme. The UGC has decided to fund the Post Graduate studies of such students. 3000 Scholarships will be awarded to such students for a duration of 2 years, that is Post Graduation. Rs.3,100 per month for a period of two years only will be awarded as an amount of fellowship to the University Rank Holding Graduates. No additional grants will be funded in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges and such by the UGC. Moreover, the student who will be awarded Post-Graduate Scholarship for University Rank Holders will be allowed to accept any other scholarships as well.
PG Scholarships for SC/ST students pursuing Professional Courses
Students belonging to Scheduled Castes or Tribes will be awarded the scholarship in order to complete their professional degrees. This scholarship will ensure an opportunity for them to gain a chance at uplifting the community by securing jobs with help of professional degrees. 1000 of such scholarships will be awarded to eligible students. The UGC will cover students of any course, Graduate or Post Graduate level. The students studying in Graduate courses will receive an assistance of Rs. 4500 per month while those in Post Graduate will receive Rs. 7800 per month so as to handle the educational expenditures. students who registered for the scholarship and are eligible will be selected for it.
