The detail of the counselling process for NEET PG 2023 for Round 1 is given below
- Counselling Registration–
Visit the official portal of Medical Counselling Committee @ mcc.nic.in. The link will appear named ‘NEET PG Counselling Registration”. Click on the link. Fill your details which include Application Number, Roll no., DOB and Name. Hit Submit Button. The login credentials will be sent to your mail-id/mobile no, please save it for future reference. - Mock Counselling-
To make the candidates aware of the interface of the counselling the mock practice is given to the students by MCC. The process is similar to that of online counselling. Through this student can avoid making mistakes while working on the interface of counselling. - Choice Filling and Seat Allotment Process-
Log in to the second phase of registration by entering the required details- Reg. No. /Password. Enter the choice of subject and colleges in order of preference as per the instruction. The options on the tab “Choice Filling” can be modified until the choice locking is not pressed in the online counselling interface. Click on the submit tab of “Choice Filling” The list of selected colleges will appear on the screen. *candidates are advised to take the printout of their locked choices of preferences. - Choice locking of NEET 2023-
After completing the choice filling process, the aspirants need to lock on the choices by clicking in the tab naming “Choice Lock”. Candidate should be very attentive while this process the choices locked will not be modified. The choices of preference made will appear on the screen. Tap on the confirm button. Enter your password while making the final submission to the choices. Take the print of the choices. Keep it for future reference. - Allotment of Seat–
The seat allotment result will be released as per the schedule. Candidate can view the allotment status on the official website of MCC. - Reporting at Allotted Colleges-
Candidates can download the allotment letter after the completion of online counselling. Candidates are advised to report to the allotted college as per the time mentioned in the letter. Candidate must carry important documents while taking admission to the college. If any candidate failed to report on time to the allotted college, his/her seat might get disqualified.

NEET PG Important Document for College Allotment
The important documents that are needed by the college after the college allotment process in the online counselling are given below. These important documents should be carried by the candidate to take admission to the allotted college.
- Admit Card NEET PG 2023
- Result,
- Original Mark sheet of all semester of MBBS/BDS Professional Exams,
- Provisional Certificate,
- Internship Certificate,
- School certificates,
- Identity proof i.e. PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter id etc. (anyone proof to be taken in which DOB, Photograph and Name is mentioned)
NEET PG 2023 Counselling
Candidates who did not secure any seats in the first round of counselling can apply for the second round of counselling for NEET PG 2023. Candidates need not register again for the second round of counselling. The process involved in the second round of counselling is similar to the first round. The candidates who have secured high merit usually participate in the first round of counselling. The seat is allotted based on the choices of preferences made by the candidate.
Candidates who cannot take part in the first round can register themselves for the second phase of counselling under the Medical Counselling Committee.
NEET PG 2023 State Quota Merit List
The Government, as well as the private institutions, take part in the counselling process. The candidates have to choose the college as per the obtained marks. The seats of the private college are also filled on the basis of NEET PG merit. The private institutions have some percentage of seats available for the candidates who have cleared the NEET examination.
Private institutions release their procedure of counselling. However, this is done as per the guidelines of the MCC. Candidates who want to join the private institution can visit the portal of the institute and can participate in the counselling process. Some seats are reserved on the colleges for the candidates residing on the same state where the institution is established.
Important Information for the Candidates Appearing for NEET PG 2023 Counselling
The important instructions to be kept in mind regarding the counselling procedure-:
- The choice locking for the college cannot be modified once it is submitted.
- The final Mop-up round follows the counselling for Deemed and the Central Universities. This is done at the institutional level for the vacancies that are left void during the counselling process.
- The candidates from the state of Andhra and Telangana are eligible for the 50% All India Quota Counselling.
- Candidate must carry important documents while taking to the college for instance, please refer to the article.
- The candidates who were rejected in the document verification for mentioning the wrong category can take part in the second round of counselling with correct details.
