Colleges through MCC NEET Counselling
The All India Rank that is allocated to a candidate by the National Testing agency is considered by various medical institutions in India. However, the difference lies at the time of counselling. Certain private institutions do refer to the NEET Result for admission of candidates but the Counselling of candidates as held by the Medical Counselling Committee is limited to Government Institutions only. They conduct counselling for Institutional Quota or the internal seats of Central Universities such as the University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Faculty of Dentistry, Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia. Internal quota seats of colleges under Armed Forces Medical College in Pune and the Employee State Insurance Corporation are also covered by them.
For seats reserved under State Quota, a candidate needs to check for the State counselling procedure of the respective domicile state. But, the candidates who are a citizen of either Telangana or Andhra Pradesh can participate against the 15% of All India Quota seats. Furthermore, reservations are also made on the basis of Government recognised category criteria. Latest, the reservation of seats for the Physically Handicapped Students have been raised from 3% to 5%. Additionally, the 21 Benchmark Disabilities are also now included under the category.
For a detailed list of Seats and Colleges, the candidates can check the “Seat Matrix” and “Participating Institutions” list on the MCC portal, once it is available.
