JOSAA Counselling Schedule 2020
The counselling schedule is now available on the official portal of the josaa.nic.in. Applicants appearing for the counselling must go through the complete counselling schedule as the admissions to various IIT’s, NIT’s etc. will be done through this counselling. The events for the registration and the filling of choices will start from 6th October and last till 15th October. The authority shall be arranging the counselling for 23 IIT’s, 31NIT’s and 23 GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).

Important Instruction for the candidates
- Applicant who want to get the admissions to the IIT’s and NIT’s needs to register themselves for the counselling.
- To secure the admissions, applicant must attend all the rounds of the counselling.
- Applicants are requested to go through the important dates for filling up choices, verification and validation for the documents. Please complete the process within the time given by the authority.
- Candidates whose seats are confirmed they can secure seat by submitting the registration fees as instructed by the authority.

JOSAA Counselling & Seat Allotment
The authority will conduct a total of 6 rounds for the admissions to the 23 IIT’s, 31NIT’s and 23 GFTIs. Colleges will be provided on the basis of the examination given by the candidate. The students who have appeared for JEE (Advanced) 2020 can apply for the IIT, NIT, and other colleges/institute while the students who have appeared for JEE (Main) 2020 can apply for the same colleges except the IIT’s. The process of JOSAA counselling will be conducted as per the schedule mentioned above in the table.
Steps to register for JOSAA 2020 counselling
The applicants appearing for the counselling process needs to follow the steps mentioned below. Please have a look over the details. The registration process is to done in different phases given below.
JOSAA Registration | Visit the official portal of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority @ josaa.nic.in. Now enter your Application Number and password in the login portal and proceed for counselling. Tap on candidates portal and check your details in the application form. Correction can be made only for the contact info and basic entities. Now, proceed for the next step of the counselling by submitting the application and moving towards filling of choices. |
Filling Of Choices | Candidates after filling the registration form then need to enter their choice of reference for the colleges available for counselling. Tap on the option naming as “Choices Available” which will show the colleges available for admissions. Now, select your preferred college/institute and proceed for the choice filling and locking section. The process of choice filling is free of cost. |
Locking of Choices | Candidates have to click on the option naming as “I agree to lock my choices” and through this, they can confirm the choice filling. Candidates can also lock their choices later if they are not sure about the seat and can freeze it before the last date to apply. Now take a copy of the application form for the selected seat. Keep the document safe for future references. |
