Vikram Gokhale Biography
Starting his career as a theatre artist, Vikram Gokhale came a very long way as he explored his talent and diligence in the specific field of acting. His first known stage appearance was in the Marathi Play, Katha. Belonging to a family with a history in acting, Gokhale made his directorial debut in 2010 with the Marathi Film, Aaghat. He is well known for acting in theatres, Hindi films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Bhool Bhulaiya, De Dana Dan, Hichki, and Mission Mangal, Tamil Films like Aalavandhan, and most prominently in Marathi Cinema for not only his acting but also directorial.
The 77-year-old actor was admitted to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital on 5 November 2022 as he dealt with Kidney, Heart issues, and even multiple organ failure. His health was constantly deteriorating, making him completely dependent on a ventilator and he passed away on 26th November 2022.

Vikram was born to the Marathi actor and singer, Chadrakand Raghunath Gokhale on 14 November 1945 in the city of Pune of Bombay Presidency. His great-grandmother, Durgabai Kamat was the first actress in Indian cinema and her daughter, Kamlabai Kamat Gokhale, who was Gokhale’s Grandmother, was also an actress. He grew up in an environment that was very connected to Indian Cinema and developed an understanding of the craft, which further made him choose the same field as his profession.

Gokhale performed in theatre in Marathi plays such as Katha, Jawai Majha Bhala, and Khara Sangaycha Tar at the beginning of his career. Vikram is married to Vrushali Gokhle who is a Marathi actress who works in TV Series and Films. They are parents to two daughters who are actively connected to Theatre, Nisha Kekar Adav and Neha Gokhale Sundriyal. His niece, Sakhi Gokhale is also an actress in Indian Television Serials.
