The authorities have further declared that the franchises will be roped in for 10 years. They have set a valuation of Rs. 1000 crores which the franchises must have before registering for the formation of the Franchises for the Women’s Indian Premier League.

The BCCI has announced that the players will have to register themselves under the Categories of Base Price as they have fixated. Further, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has notified that the players will have to register directly with the Board and not with or through any agents. They have declared that the registration has to be made under five categories. These are as follows:

  • Category 1: Uncapped Players for Base Price of Rs. 10 Lakhs
  • Category 2: Uncapped Players for Base Price of Rs. 20 Lakhs
  • Category 3: Capped Players for Base Price for Rs. 30 Lakhs
  • Category 4: Capped Players for Base Price of Rs. 40 Lakhs
  • Category 5: Capped Players for Base Price of Rs. 50 Lakhs

The tournament for the Indian Premier League of Women is expected to play in the month of March 2023. The Men’s tournament will be organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in April 2023. Considering the jam-packed year with Men’s ODI World Cup coming in and to be hosted in India, the month of March seems as the very rational option to host the inaugural edition of Women IPL.
