Lucknow Supergiants Team: The 15^th edition of the Indian Premier League is going to start from April 2022. A total of 10 teams are going to participate and two new teams Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans have joined the row this year. Lucknow Supergiants Team will be presenting Lucknow, UttarPradesh from this year onwards. The team is owned by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group commonly known as RPSG Group. Lucknow Supergiants     

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was founded on 25^th October 2021, a few months before the beginning of IPL-2022. Sanjiv Goenka-owned RPSG group has owned the franchisee. The group owned the Rising Pune Supergiant team back in 2016 and 2017. The group grabbed the bid for the franchisee for over 932 million USD (7090 Crores). IPL 2022 will start from 2^nd April 2022 and the world will witness the game of two new franchisees.

The draft picks of the teams are All-rounder Marcus Stoinis, Batsman KL Rahul, and Spin Bowler Ravi Bishnoi. They were the primary faces of the team. KL Rahul has been drafted as the captain of the new team. Andy Flower, the former Zimbabwean cricketer, and coach have been drafted as the Head Coach of the team. The team will be mentored by the Indian Former cricketer- Gautam Gambhir.

The logo of the brand new team represents the mythical bird Garuda. The logo of the team was unveiled on 31^st January 2022. The team has drawn inspiration from ancient Indian Mythology.
