Eligibility Criteria To Apply for CDS I 2020

How To Fill UPSC CDS II Online Form?
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for available vacancies in CDS Recruitment I 2021. UPSC will accept only online applications from the candidates. Here are the step-wise instructions for every candidate who wish to apply-
- As application form will be submitted online, candidates have to begin with opening the official website @http://upsconline.nic.in
- On the homepage, click on application link for all UPSC examinations as shown in the picture-
- Online application submission process is divided into two parts; Part 1 and Part 2. They have to select from the options available as shown in the image below-
- In part 1, applicants has to complete the registration process to apply for CDS II. In this part, they have to mention personal, educational, and educational details. Here is an example of an application form for CDS;
- After the completion of initial part of filling the application mode applicant will have to fill part II. Here he has to pay the application form, select the exam center, and upload photographs.\
- After completing the application process, keep the login details and a printed copy of filled in application form with you for references.
CDS II Application Fee
- Application for male candidates from General and OBC category is Rs. 200/-.
- For all female candidates and SC/ST candidates, application fee is NIL.
- Candidates can pay the application fee with a debit card, credit card, and net banking.

UPSC CDS I Syllabus
The selection of the candidates will be done based on written tests and intelligence and personality tests. the written exam standard will be of matriculation level. Syllabus of the written test will be as follows;
- SYLLABUS ENGLISH
Applicants must have a strong grip on subject as the motive to include the English exam in the recruitment process is to check the candidate’s understanding and knowledge about this language.
- GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
Applicant must have information about current affairs, history of India, etc.
- ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS
– Arithmetic Number System
Number System, Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Elementary Number Theory laws of logarithms, Theory of polynomials, solutions of quadratic equations, use of logarithmic tables. ALGEBRA Basic Operations, H.C.F., L.C.M., the relation between its roots and coefficients (Only real roots to be considered). Simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns—analytical and graphical solutions. Simultaneous linear inequations in two variables and their solutions Rational expressions and conditional identities, Laws of indices.
– Trigonometry
Simple trigonometric identities. Use of trigonometric tables. Simple cases of heights and distances.
– Geometry
Lines and angles, Plane and plane figures, Theorems. Areas of figures which can be split up into these figures (Field Book), lateral surface and volume of right circular cones and cylinders, Surface area and volume of cuboids, surface area and volume of spheres.
– Mensuration
Areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangle and circle, Areas of figures which can be split up into these figures (Field Book), Surface area and volume of cuboids, lateral surface, and column of right circular cones and cylinders, surface area and volume of spheres.
– Statistics
Collection and tabulation of statistical data, Graphical representation frequency polygons, histograms, bar charts, pie charts, etc. Measures of central tendency.
- INTELLIGENCE AND PERSONALITY TEST
This round of interviews will be conducted in two stages. On clearing stage I applicants will face stage II. When the candidate will reach stage II then he/she will have to stay for four days in the exam premises as stage II will continue for four days.
