Eligibility Criteria for Punjab D.El.Ed 2020

  • Academic Qualification: Aspirants belongs to General category must be passed 12th standard, or it’s equivalent and must have 50% marks and 45% of marks for SC/ ST category candidates. In case aspirants who are appearing for 12th class exam can also apply for admission.
  • Age Criteria: The maximum age of applicants must be 36 years as on 15th of Sept 2020. There are five years of relaxation for reserved category aspirants.

Consequences of Wrong Documents

In case, higher authorities find any false statement, document in any stage for the admission process then, they will cancel the candidature of his/ her immediately. If an applicant has any criminal record, then authorities will be barring his/ her to take admission for three years.

Punjab 2020 D.El.Ed Selection Procedure

Officials will not conduct any examination to select eligible applicants for admission. Admission will be totally based on merit list. Selection list will be announced as a result by authorities for candidates. Higher authorities will shortlist applicants on the basis of their 12th marks. 5% of relaxation in marks will be given to reserved category aspirants. After selection of candidates, officials will conduct counselling process.

Tie-Breaking Rules

With the help of tie-breaking rules, officials will select more eligible candidates between two or more. Tie-breaking rules are needed when there is same marks of two or more applicants. Check the rules given below.

  1. Rule Number 1: If there is a tie between two or more applicants, then preference will be given to that candidate who is older in age.
  2. Rule Number 2: If a tie still exists, then authorities will prefer those aspirants who have higher marks in 10th class.

Seat Allotment/ Counselling Procedure

There are possibilities that officials will conduct online counselling for all shortlisted aspirants. Authorities will organize three rounds of counselling for candidates. For counselling, applicants need to fill the form and select the colleges according to their category. The seat will be allocated on the basis of merit list. Private institutions have a policy in which 60% of seats will be allotted on the basis of merit list, and 40% seats will be fulfilled by concerned colleges. These concerned institutions have to take permission to SCERT officials for 40% of seat allocation.
